Terms of Service

1. Service description

BGFree helps users remove image backgrounds. Local mode runs in your browser using client-side technology. Cloud / Pro mode sends the selected image to BGFree and Remove.bg for higher-quality processing and requires sign-in and available credits.

2. Accounts

You may need to sign in with Google to use Cloud / Pro mode, buy credits, or view your account. You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe your account is being misused.

3. Credits and paid features

• One successful Cloud / Pro background removal currently consumes 1 credit.
• Credit packs currently show 1-year validity. Monthly plans currently show 30-day validity.
• Credits have no cash value, are not a stored-value product, and are intended only for BGFree usage.
• Failed processing should not consume a final credit balance. If a failed job deducts credits, contact support for review.
• Product names, credit amounts, pricing, and availability may change prospectively.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by PayPal. By purchasing credits or a plan, you agree to PayPal's applicable terms and confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method. Taxes, currency conversion, payment fees, and billing details may be handled by PayPal or other payment providers.

5. User content and rights

You retain your rights in images you upload or process. You grant BGFree the limited permission needed to receive, transmit, process, and return your image for background removal. You must have all rights and permissions required to upload and process each image, including rights relating to personal images, copyrighted works, trademarks, products, people, and children.

6. Prohibited use

You must not use BGFree to:

• Violate laws, third-party rights, privacy rights, or intellectual property rights.
• Upload images you do not have permission to process.
• Create, assist, or distribute illegal, abusive, exploitative, deceptive, or harmful content.
• Process sexual content involving minors or any content that exploits children.
• Impersonate others, mislead viewers, or create deceptive content without appropriate context.
• Probe, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or attack the service or its infrastructure.
• Bypass credit, payment, security, rate-limit, or access-control systems.

7. Output quality and availability

Background removal results may vary based on image quality, subject clarity, file format, browser performance, third-party provider availability, and network conditions. BGFree does not guarantee that every image can be processed or that every result will be suitable for professional, legal, identity, marketplace, or commercial use.

8. Third-party services

BGFree uses third-party services including Remove.bg, Google OAuth, PayPal, Cloudflare, and browser-side open-source or commercial libraries. Third-party outages, limits, policy changes, or account restrictions may affect BGFree features.

9. Service changes and termination

We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue BGFree or any feature at any time, especially during the MVP stage. We may remove or restrict accounts or usage that violate these Terms or create legal, security, fraud, or operational risk.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

BGFree is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BGFree will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages. Mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.

11. Governing law

Governing law, legal entity, venue, and dispute process are [to be confirmed]. These Terms must be updated before commercial launch with the correct contracting entity and jurisdiction.
